The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition announces its 2025 round of Community Conversation Grants and Environmental Education Grants have opened. The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition works as an environmental advocacy group and organizes educational opportunities and grant programs. In 2025 the group will award two grant programs.
The UPEC Community Conservation Grant challenges communities to promote conservation values. The program awards 10,000 dollars for planning and implementing local conservation projects that engage a variety of community stakeholders in protecting native plants and animal life.
A second program, the Environmental Education Grant, aims to support local education by engaging students with nature. The 500 dollars support education-promoted environmental projects within schools and education organizations. The program has helped schools for more than 15 years create innovative educational programs.
Both grant programs will end requests or proposals after January 11th,2025. Those interested in learning more about the Community Conservation Grant or the Environmental Education grant programs can find more details here, including information about the Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition.
