A cold wind can chill a home, but wood supplies from Little Brother’s friends of the elderly keep seniors warm. Today and tomorrow the Torch Lake Knights of Columbus hosts the organization’s annual Turn On the Heat Fundraiser. The Knights of Columbus will seek donations to support LBFE’s firewood program while at Louie’s Fresh Market in Lake Linden. While there a special guest will make an appearance, just for kids to let the North Pole know what they want for Christmas. Families are invited to stop by, say hello, and take a photo with jolly ol’ Saint Nick. The Little Brothers Friends of the elderly firewood program delivers cords of wood to seniors’ homes in the Copper Country throughout the year. Over the years the program has gained tremendous support from the local community with volunteers such as local fraternities, and help to chop wood.
The Torch Lake Knights of Columbus will be at Louie’s Fresh Market until 6 pm today, and tomorrow from 11am to 3pm. Louie’s Fresh Market is located at 53115 M-26 in Lake Linden. Learn about the Torch Lake Knights of Columbus here.
