The earlier you start by developing good spending and saving habits can save someone trouble down the road. Tomorrow Breakwater Federal Credit Union and the Portage Lake District Library will partner to host a series on financial literacy for youth in the Copper Country.
The program on Wednesday and Thursday, will have youth join Breakwater Federal Credit Union staff for a storytime. Save It by Cinders McLeod follows the story of the bunny, Honey, who plans to save up and escape her noisy siblings.
On Saturday the Money Matters: Fun with Finance for Kids will have youth participate in exciting activities, introducing youth to financial concepts in a fun and accessible way
Storytime with Breakwater on Wednesday will start at 10:30 am, and on Thursday at 1:30 pm.
The Money Matters activities will start at 12:30 on Saturday. All programs with Breakwater FCU will take place at the Portage Lake District Library on Lakeshore Drive in Houghton.
