MLB
The Tigers took two from the Orioles Saturday.
In the afternoon game, Javier Báez had three hits in a 4-3 victory. Casey Mize got his fourth win of the season, pitching into the sixth, and giving up eight hits, but allowing just one run. Spencer Torkelson homered.
In the evening contest, Riley Greene’s three-run homer powered Detroit to a 6-2 victory. Torkelson added a two-run double. Keider Montero came back up from Toledo to make the start. He pitched into the fifth, and allowed one run. Brant Hurter got the win in relief.
The Tigers wrap up that home set against the Orioles this afternoon. Tarik Skubal will pitch against Dean Kremer. Because of Pistons basketball, coverage will begin at 1:15 on KBear 102.3.
Nolan Arenado’s solo homer off Trevor Magill in the bottom of the ninth gave the Cardinals a 6-5 victory over the Brewers Saturday. Jackson Chourio’s two-run shot had tied the game in the top of the ninth. Chourio had for hits in the game, and drove in three runs.
The Brewers have lost four straight, and conclude that series at Saint Louis this afternoon. Jose Quintana will start against Erick Fedde.
The oblique injury that forced center fielder Garrett Mitchell out of Friday’s game has been diagnosed as a strain. He’s been added to the injured list. Former Tiger Daz Cameron has been called up from Nashville to fill in.

In NBA Eastern Conference quarterfinals Saturday…
- The Cavaliers iced the Heat 124-87. Cleveland takes a 3-0 lead in that series.

- The Thunder edged the Grizzlies 117-115 to sweep their opening-round series 4-0.
- The Nuggets shaded the Clippers 101-99. That series is tied 2-2.
- The Warriors got past the Rockets 104-93. Golden State leads that series 2-1.

- The Pistons host the Knicks. New York leads that series 2-1. Coverage will begin at 12:35 on 99.3 The Lift. Detroit center Isaiah Stewart has missed the last two games with a sore knee. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff says his status for today’s contest won’t eb determined until game time.

NFL
The NFL Draft wrapped up Saturday…
- The Lions had no fourth-round pick. They moved up to take LSU offensive lineman Miles Frazier late in the fifth round. In the sixth round, they took Boise State edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein. They closed the draft by selecting Georgia safety Dan Jackson and Georgia receiver Dominic Lovett in the seventh round.
- The Packers took Texas edge rusher Barryn Sorrell in the fourth round, and added Oklahoma State linebacker Collin Oliver in the fifth, and Georgia defensive lineman Warren Brinson in the sixth. In the seventh, they claimed Tulane cornerback Micah Robinson, and Cincinnati offensive lineman John Williams.
