Houghton County Sheriff investigate fatal single car accident in Portage Township

The Houghton County sheriff is investigating the cause of a fatal single-car accident in Portage Township. On Sunday close to 9 pm the Houghton County Sheriff was called to the scene of a single-vehicle personal injury accident near Pilgrim Road in Portage Township. Upon arrival, law enforcement found a 24-year-old man deceased, and a 22-year-old male passenger uninjured. Officials believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
