A Marquette man has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Sixty-three-year-old Brian Donald Sims was arraigned Friday in 96th District Court in Marquette. He faces three counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity, one count of Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes, and four counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. If convicted, he could serve up to 20 years in prison – more if the sentences were to run consecutively. Conditional bond was set at $110,000.
State troopers from the Negaunee post arrested Sims following an investigation, which began when they learned he was chatting with and receiving images from an underage child. Investigators say digital evidence was seized from his home.
Defendants are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
