Michigan Technological University honors a former NHL great for his academic success while earning his bachelor’s degree. Last Friday Michigan Technological University announced it has awarded the Board of Trustees Silver Medal honor to Tony Esposito, a graduate of the class of 1967. Esposito grew up in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and enrolled at Michigan Technological University as a business administration student and student-athlete. Not many pucks made it past him as he manned the net for the Huskies throughout his college career, just like how he never missed a class while attending the university. Michigan tech trustee John Bacon says Tony O ranks as one of the most accomplished graduates, and one of the greatest hockey players to step onto the ice, the committee was most impressed by his dedication to his courses and commitment to use his education after graduating.
