Amy Irving is releasing a new album titled, Always Will Be, featuring her interpretations of ten Willie Nelson songs. The project arrives 45-years after Irving and Nelson starred in Honeysuckle Rose together, which earned Willie an Academy Awards nomination for his classic tune, “On The Road Again.” On Irving’s album, Nelson adds a guitar solo to another track taken from their film together, “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground.” Always Will Be is due out on April 25 via Queen of the Castle/Missing Piece Records, and it includes guest appearances by Levon Helm’s daughter, Amy Helm, and Steve Earle. Irving will kick off promotional shows starting in New York City on May 4, followed by a performance at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY on May 31. “I kind of wanted a trajectory: You first meet someone, you go through life together, you lose them,” Irving explains. “I just thought I could tell that story with his songs.” (Variety)
