High School
Calumet and Ewen-Trout Creek advanced to the regional finals in the girls high school basketball tournament with victories in the semifinals last evening.
- In Division Four, the Panthers shut down Hancock 37-27. Hancock concludes its season with a record of 17-9. Ewen improves to 24-1, and will face Norway for the regional crown tomorrow night at 7:00 at Marquette High School. The Knights eliminated Munising 45-41 last evening.
- In Division Three, the Copper Kings never trailed in a 64-40 victory over Menominee. Calumet opened up a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, and pulled away steadily through the contest. Jackie Kiilunen scored 20 for the Copper Kings, and Allison Bjorn added 10. Calumet improves to 20-5 on the season, and will face Manton in the regional title match tomorrow at 7 at Saint Ignace. The Rangers ousted Harbor Springs 51-40 last evening, and bring a record of 21-4 into tomorrow night’s contest. Coverage of tomorrow’s game will begin at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
The Forest Park boys basketball team will play Pickford in a quarterfinal game tonight at 7:00 at Gladstone High School.

The Red Wings’ losing streak reached six games last night, with a 2-1 loss to the Senators. Detroit outshot Ottawa 49-23, but Dylan Larkin’s third-period wrister was the only one to get through. Cam Talbot took the loss in net.
The Wings entertain the Sabers tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons host the Wizards tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks visit the Pacers this evening.
MLB
The Tigers dropped a 10-2 decision to the Yankees yesterday. Kenta Maeda gave up three home runs in the first inning.
The Tigers face the Braves this afternoon. Jack Flaherty will start against Grant Holmes.
Christian Yelich hit a two-run homer, as the Brewers outscored the Mariners 7-5 yesterday. Tobias Myers struggled into the third inning, giving up three runs on six hits.
Milwaukee will face the Cubs today. Jacob Misiorowski will pitch against Justin Steele.
NFL
The Packers have bolstered their offensive line by agreeing to a four-year, $77 million deal with former 49ers guard Aaron Banks. Banks was considered the top offensive lineman on the free agent market.
