High School
Four U.P. girls basketball teams won regional titles last evening, and advanced to next week’s quarterfinals…
In Division Four, Ewen-Trout Creek pulled away late to defeat Norway 54-44. The Panthers will face St. Ignace in a quarterfinal game Tuesday at 7:00 at Gladstone High School. The Saints dispatched Inland Lakes 80-39 to win their region last night.
- In Division Three, Calumet grabbed an early lead, and cruised past Manton 64-39. The Copper Kings led by 17 at halftime. With the Rangers’ defense focused on Jackie Kiilunen, Bailey Strom led Calumet with 24 points. Kiirsi Johnson added 15, and Jess Anderson chipped in 11. The Copper Kings will face Sanford Meridian Tuesday. The Mustangs shut down Roscommon 37-26 in the regional title game last night. The quarterfinal is scheduled for 7:00 at Houghton Lake High School, and will be broadcast on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
- In Division Two Gladstone ousted Fremont 49-31. The Braves will face Frankenmuth Tuesday at Shepherd High School. Frankenmuth eliminated Portland 41-27.

- In Division Four, Forest Park faces defending champion Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian today at 5:30, with the broadcast on 99.1 WIKB. Fowler and Allen Park Inter-City Baptist meet in the other semifinal.
- In Division Three, Westwood takes on the Arts and Technology Academy of Pontiac today at noon. Riverview Gabriel Richard and Pewamo-Westphalia play in the other semifinal.
- In Division Two, Kingsford play Romulus Summit Academy North tomorrow at 5:30. Grand Rapid Catholic Central and Warren Lincoln will fill the other semifinal.

NHL
The Red Wings snapped their six-game losing streak with a 7-3 win over the Sabers last night. Patrick Kane had two goals and three assists, and Marco Kasper also scored twice. Petr Mrazek, who recently returned to the team in a trade, stopped 23 shots.
The Wings visit the Hurricanes tomorrow night. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB
The Tigers shut down the Rays 5-1 yesterday. Casey Mize pitched shutout ball into the fourth inning, gave up one hit, and struck out four. Spencer Torkelson hit his fourth home run of the spring.
The Tigers face the Yankees this afternoon. Jackson Jobe will start against Max Fried.
The Brewers had yesterday off, and will play the White Sox today. Tyler Alexander will pitch against Jordan Leasure.
NFL
It looks as if free agent running back A.J. Dillon will not return to the Packers next season. There are reports he’s agreed to a contract with the Eagles. Former Green Bay center Josh Meyers has agreed to a deal with the Jets.
