Breakwater Federal Credit Union has awarded scholarships to three local students.
At the credit union’s 71st annual membership meeting Wednesday evening, the $1,000 stipends were given to Lily Etelamaki from Chassell Township Schools, and Ethan Hainault and Ella Roy from Houghton High School.

The credit union also donated $2,500 to the Copper Country Police and Fire Relief Fund, which provides assistance to victims of crimes and home fires.
