NBA Conference quarterfinal series began Saturday.
In the East…
- The Pistons fell to the Knicks 123-112. New York used a 21-0 run to outscore Detroit 40-21 in the fourth quarter. Tobias Harris scored 25 points. Cade Cunningham added 21, and dished out 12 assists. Isaiah Stewart limped out of the game in the fourth quarter. He had sat out Detroit’s final two regular-season contests with a gimpy knee. Game two will be played Monday in New York. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift. The Pistons still haven’t won a playoff game since 2008.
- The Bucks lost to the Pacers 117-98. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 36 and grabbed 12 rebounds, but no other Milwaukee starter reached double figures in scoring. Game two will be played Tuesday in Indianapolis.

- The Nuggets edged the Clippers 112-110 in overtime.
- The Timberwolves shut down the Lakers 117-95.

Spencer Torkelson’s three-run homer powered the Tigers to a 3-1 victory over the Royals Saturday afternoon. The fifth-inning blow handed Casey Mize his third win of the season. Mize held Kansas City to one run on four hits over seven innings.
The Tigers wrap up that home set against the Royals today. Tarik Skubal will pitch against Michael Wacha. Coverage will begin at 1:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
Another Detroit reliever has been added to the injured list. John Brebbia will miss at least two weeks with a right triceps strain. Bailey Horn has been called up from Toledo.
The Brewers collected just three hits in a 3-1 loss to the Athletics Saturday. Chad Patrick took the tough loss for Milwaukee, allowing two tuns over six innings.
The Brewers entertain the Athletics again today. Logan Henderson will start against Jeffrey Springs.
